We are Japanese Restaurant who contracted with New World Architects for a minor renovation.

Even for a short term closure, we had to push back our reopening date because construction kept delaying.

From day one, the construction was plagued w/ miscommunication and unprofessional work. Their own boss weren't properly giving his crew instructions on what to do or where to put things. He wasn't present most of the times. As a result, the job was rushed and the quality decreased. Overtime had to be incurred because they needed to correct problems and our boss had to change the design because the end result was poor.

They promised to return to fix the problems but they never did. Even towards end of the construction period, the communication became even less.

At the end of the day, they overcharged us b/c of the OT. I'm especially astonished that when we showed the sloppy workmanship to the crew, they shrugged it off as it wasn't a big deal.

We paid in full despite majority of the OT was due to their fault and so we can keep a good relationship in the future when we are going to expand our business. It would appear that they just wanted to grab the money and leave their reputation in the dust.

We will never work with these people and we retracted our recommendations to other businesses. Maybe handyman work is ok w/ them. But they lack credentials for being professionals and especially with their poor work attitude, any job will probably result in the same.
