Steveston Folk Guild - Kray Van Kirk - Thursday Feb 17th, 7.30pm
by Mike Corbin
(Nanaimo)
All the way from Alaska to SFG. ‘Music without borders or cost’ is the foundation of singer-songwriter Kray Van Kirk's approach to writing and performing music. He no longer sells CDs and freely gives his music away over his website, www.krayvankirk.com. Kray paid a visit to SFG in March 2010, and captivated our audience with his original songs and guitar skill. Van Kirk has recently finished a series of concerts in Ireland and Great Britain. The Borderline Folk Club of New York said of his show ".what all other singer-songwriters should aspire to.", while his performance at the Fringe Festival in Edinburgh, Scotland was called "spellbinding" by the Fringe Review. When he is not touring, he spends his time at home in Alaska, being a parent and finishing his PhD. All of his songs wait patiently on his website, ready to waddle their way across the world, leaving no footprints in the snow. Hosted by Karen Kelm To reserve seats call Bob at 604-618-9329 Admission $8 at the door Show time 7.30pm Dave McArthur Steveston Folk Guild dave@stevestonfolk.org Tel 1-604-272-9294
